Monsterlings -At Home with Telior

  Hey, so I just completed another Monsterlings piece and I'm loving where this is going, but to be honest it's a little scary seeing all of this come together like it has.   Everyday I work on a new part of the project and I get closer to the goal of seeing it completed, but like with anything else, one step forward can be two steps back. The more I create the more I see that needs to be created, it can be exhausting.

 

  I get sucked into creative mode trying to figure out all the parts for past, present and future, and when I try and look back on what's already done I notice I have very little completed, except for some small parts to a larger puzzle... there is literally hundreds of parts and pieces to this that still need creation and assembly, I am most definitely building a full on world within a world. I must have patience and take my time so each piece is as good, if not better than the last.  I literally have a toilet-paper-roll long shopping list of needs and wants for this project. YIKES!

  I had originally created the Nabbi (neighborhood) of the Monsterlings centered around a very old tree. The tree's mushroom fungus was created to be stairway leading all around the tree to the different little clay cottages of each of the 40+ Budlings. The original 3 houses were created early in my Zbrush practice and I have learned a lot since then to keep my poly's low, so I recreated the first clay cottage, which is Telior's, to be a lot lower in polygons and painted in Zbrush instead of adding the textures directly in C4d and controlling them from there. Which was a much better idea, but will be far more time consuming since I have to create around 40+ small cottages and each is different with different custom furnishings involved. Prior I created only the first 3 cottages and just changed the colors on them and moved them around. Which was fine for background imagery, but for the animations I need to have them all built and each one representing it's Monsterling owner by his, or her theme of character and color-story. 

  Just breathe...

  Yea's it's ton of wonderful work and I'm looking forward to it, but it's just a slow process

and I don't have time to procrastinate any longer.
